However the tour was cancelled after protests from the anti-apartheid movement. Eddie Barlow subsequently withdrew for business reasons and was replaced by Arthur Short. The tour was replaced by tour from a Rest of the World XI. This featured several South African players such as the Pollock brothers and Ackerman. South Africa did not tour Australia again until 1992. ==References==
